UNIT 9: FESTIVALS AROUND THE WORLD

Lesson 1: Getting started

I. OBJECTIVES:

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

1. Knowledge:

Vocabulary:

- Gain an overview about the topic “Festivals around the world”.

- Use lexical items related to the topic “Festivals”: names of different festivals

around the world.

Custume, fireworks display, feast, float, folk dance, parade, decorate.

2. Competences:

- Develop communication skills and cultural awareness.

- Be collaborative and supportive in independent work, pair work and teamwork.

- Actively join in class activities.

3. Qualities:

- Develop self-study skills.

- Have positive attitude in English language learning so that they actively

participate in all classroom activities.

- Know more festivals around the words and choosing the festival that they like.
