ABSTRACT
In the present study, the copper (Cu) matrix composite reinforced by titanium carbide (TiC)
was fabricated via powder metallurgy route. Cu-TiC powder mixture was prepared by a high-energy
planetary ball milling process for 2h with TiC content varied from 1 to 5 wt% The powder mixtures
were then cold compacted at 200 MPa and sintered at 900"Cfor 2h. After sintering, samples were
subjected to cold extrude and then characterized. The results obtained shows that relative density
decreases when TiC content increased. An enhancing in tensile strength was observed at less than
2 wt% TiC, larger dose reduces tensile strength of the material. The higher TiC content, the lower
electrical conductivity was recorded. Cold extrusion had improved mechanical properties and
electrical conductivity of the material.

Trong nghien cim ndy, trinh bdy cong nghe che tgo vdt lieu composite nen Cu cot hgt TiC
bdng phuang phdp luyen kim bpt. Hon hpp bpt Cu-TiC v&i hdm lucmg TiC thay doi tir 1 den 5%
trpng luang duac nghien tron trong mdy nghien hdnh tinh trong thai gian 2 gia. Hon hcrp bpt .sau
do duac ep tgo hinh sa bo a 200MPa vd thieu kit a 900"C trong 2 gia. Sau khi thieu kit, mdu duac
ep dim nguoi vd kiem tra cdc dgc tinh. Ket qud thu duac cho thdy, mat dp tuang doi gidm khi hdm
lupng TiC tdng. Gi&i hgn ben keo tdng khi hdm lupmg TiC < 2%, khi hdm luang tdng ldm gidm gi&i
hgn bin keo cua vdt lieu. D6^ ddn dien gidm khi hdm luang TiC tdng cao. Cong nghe ep dim nguoi
dd cdi thien ca tinh vd do ddn dien cua vdt lieu
