Survey on predatory insects species of soybean insect pests, some biological characteristics

of Harpalus sinicus Hope (Carabidae; Coleoptera) in winter - spring soybean cropping

season (2005- 2006) in Chuong My - Ha Tay

SUMMARY

A survey was conducted on all predatory insects' species of soybean insect pests

and characteristics of Carpals sinicus Hope were studied in winter - spring soybean

cropping season in Chuong My district, Ha Tay province. Once a week, the survey on

compositions of predatory insects was randomly conducted in the field. 100 Harpalus

sinicus Hope were kept in 10 caves, 10 hopes in one cave. Everyday 20 soybean leaf

rollers at the age of 2-3 were put in the cave for feeding the Hope and the number of

soybean leaf rollers eaten were counted. The results showed that in Chuong My, Ha Tay

there were 26 and 32 species of predatory insects in winter season and spring season,

respectively. Among the species of predatory insects, 16 species belong to family

Carabidae. The observation of Harpalus sinicus Hope showed that Harpalus sinicus

Hope without foods was very long (15.42 ± 0.77 days) under the temperature of 20 - 25oC.

Eating capacity of Harpalus sinicus Hope on Soybean leaf rollers as preferable preys was

very high (about 7.94 individuals of Soybean leaf roller per day). Harpalus sinicus Hope

prefer soybean leaf rollers more than Spodoptera litura and Helicoverpa armigera.

thÞt ë ViÖt Nam ®· cã kh¸ nhiÒu c«ng tr×nh

nghiªn cøu vÒ thµnh phÇn cña nã (Vò Quang

C«n vµ céng sù, 1990; Ph¹m V¨n LÇm, 1993);

Hµ Quang Hïng vµ céng sù, 1996; TrÇn §×nh

ChiÕn, 2002). Tuy nhiªn, nh÷ng nghiªn cøu vÒ

®Æc ®iÓm sinh häc, sinh th¸i cña tõng loµi

thiªn ®Þch cô thÓ th× ch−a nhiÒu. Bµi b¸o nµy

tr×nh bµy nh÷ng kÕt qu¶ nghiªn cøu vÒ loµi bä

ch©n ch¹y ®en Harpalus sinicus Hope, mét

loµi ch−a ®−îc ®i s©u nghiªn cøu.
