INTRODUCTION

Family Home Visiting aims to

provide children with the best

possible start in life and to assist

families to provide the best

possible support for their children.

This will ensure that children,

in the context of their families

and communities, are provided

with the foundation to develop

to the best of their potential.

This document has been developed to give an overview of Children, Youth and Women’s Health Service’s

Family Home Visiting across South Australia. Its aim is to provide a general guide to the philosophical basis,

structure and content of Family Home Visiting while not going into the detail of content and strategies of the

service or its evaluation.
