• Each transducer has a position marker (indicator) that corresponds with the

position marker on the ultrasound monitor. This is a guide to help remind

the sonographer to which orientation the transducer is positioned.

• In most common applications the position marker on the monitor is on the

left side. This differs from classic echocardiography orientation where it is

placed on the right side of the image.
