Results of isolation, determination of some biological

properties of bacteria CA perfringens on piglets with diarrhea

in Northern provinces

SUMMARY

Culture, isolation of bacteria Q. perfringens from samples of piglets with diarrhea in some

northern provinces showed that

- The rates of CI. perfringens isolated in feces samples of diarrheic pig was 59.82% and in

normal pigs was 26.78%. Strains of Cl. perfringens isolated from viscera samples had tfie

highest rates in the large intestine (66.67%), then in the small intestine (61.90%) and lowest in

spleen (14.28%)

- The strains of CI perfringens isolated had carried a full biological characteristics and were

highly vuiilent, killed 100% of exprimental mice from 18-48 hours after injection with lesions as

abdominal distention, lung inflammation, bleeding surface liver, swollen spleen, haemorrhagic

mtestine, flabby heart. Using heart blood to culture on environment anaerobic, had been

isolated CI. perfringens bacteria.
