I-OR OIL AND GAS EXPLOITATION IN TI IE DI-EP SEA SHELF OF VIETNAM

Abstract

The paper provided a selection proposal drilling rig in expand jield

development drilling at Vietnam deepwater. By reviewing some of the

engineering aspect actual deep water exploiration slategy of Petro Vietnam

National Oil & Gas Group, the technology advancement, innovations and

challenges in drilling rig. An overview oj TAD technology will bring benefit for

potienal oil & gas location at deepwater of Vietnam Offshore. The combinion

between Semi - submersible and .stability of Jack up rig to demonstrate

effective and bring a lot of avanlage rather than conventional drilling rig.

Semi-submersible Tender Assisted Drilling RIG (SSTD or TAD) will be a good

solution for selection of drilling rig to carry out oil & gas jield development

with water depth from 130 m to 1300 in. In the event of Semi - submersible

.selection is not cost ejfeetive wilh high rental cost, high intinial investment cost

and more expensive than TAD and technical solution as well.
