EFFECTS OF TH E ELECTRO - ACUPUNCTUR E O N TH E REHABILITATION AFTER CRUSH
SCIATIC I N MIC E - A BEHAVIOURA L STUDY
Recent research shows positive effects of electrical stimulation to regenerate axons after nerve injury.
Objective: Evaluate the influence of the electroacupuneture on functional recovery by behavioral testing
(test VonFrey, LHargreaves and Catwalk) after crush of sciatic nerve. Methods: The left sciatic nerves of 26
female mice C57/BI6 were crushed at the thigh. They were randomly divided into two groups: group I
(control group n = 16) didn't receive any treatmenL group II (n = 10) was treated with electroacupuneture
with frequency 2 Hz, acupuncture needles were inserted into acupoints Hoantiao GB30 and Yanglinquan
GB34, 3 days after the crush, 5 times every 2 day. Results: Electroacupunetre had no effect on the
recovery of sensitivity as well as the neuropathic pain preventive , but it increased its ability to restore
movement. Conclusion: Electroaeupunture accelerated the recovery of the motor function after crush sialic
nerve in mice.
