Lesson: INTRODUCE ENLISH 10 & HOW TO TEST

I> OBJECTIVES:

- Help Ss know the content of English 10 and how to learn it effectively.

- Introduce Ss some kinds of test.

- List some grammar points in English 9.

II> PREPERATION: Textbook, handouts.

III> PROCEDURE:

Teacher’s activities Students’ activities

1/ Warm – up: (8mn.s)

- Introduce myself: full name, address, family, hobby, …

- Ask Ss to fill in the form (handout), then introduce

themselves.

- Call some Ss to introduce themselves.

- Listen, then collect the forms.

2/ Presentation:

a, Introduce English 10: (10mn.s)

- Ask Ss to open the book map (p.6 – 11)

- Divide the class into six groups.

- Ask Ss to work in groups, discuss some questions:

+ How many units are there in English 10?

+ What is the topic of each unit?

+ What do we have to learn in each unit?

- Listen to Ss’ answers and introduce more about English

10.

b, Some kinds of English test at school: (7mn.s)

- Introduce some kinds of English test at school:

+ Oral test: Through speaking, writing or doing some tasks

at class.

+ 15 minutes test: Reading, Listening, Writing, Language

Focus.

- Listen.

- Fill in the form given:

+ Date of birth: …………………………….

+ Address: …………………………………….

+ Hobby: …………………………………………

+ English result last year: ……….

+ Do you like studying English?

- Introduce in front of the class.

- Others listen.

- Look at the book.

- Work in groups, then answer
