Coming in September 2005:

Next Generation TOEFL

Beginning in September 2005, the TOEFL test will include

speaking tasks as well as listening, reading, and writing;

some of the tasks will be combined. By assessing all four

language skills in this new format, you will be able to better

demonstrate your ability to communicate in English.

A practice version of this test will be available on the

TOEFL Web site in July 2004. The TOEFL Academic

Speaking Test, which provides practice for the speaking

portion of the exam, is available online now.

MAIL Complete the paper-based test registration form

in the Bulletin and mail to ETS in the envelope

provided.

Prometric TOEFL Registration center at

1-800-GO-TOEFL (1-800-468-6335).

WALK- Go to a test center on the day you would like to test.

IN Unscheduled examinees are admitted on a first￾come, first-served basis. You are NOT guaranteed

an appointment. Be sure to take appropriate iden￾tification and an acceptable form of payment (see

pages 6-10.)

NOTE: Walk-in test takers will not receive free test prepara￾tion materials.

International Testing Locations

PHONE Call the Regional Registration Center (RRC) for the

country in which you plan to test at least three busi￾ness days prior to requested test date. (See page 19

for RRC contact information.)

If you live OUTSIDE the United States and wish to test

WITHIN the United States, call 1-443-751-4862.

MAIL Complete the International Test Scheduling Form in

or FAX the Bulletin. Mail or fax to the RRC in the country

you plan to test in. Refer to the “Instructions” on the

scheduling form.

Paper-Based

ETS is committed to serving test takers with disabilities by providing services and reasonable accommodations deemed appropriate

given the purpose of the test. Nonstandard testing accommodations are available for test takers who meet ETS eligibility criteria.

For more information and registration materials, please use one of the communication methods listed on page 5, or download the

materials from the Web site (www.ets.org/toefl).

After your registration for the TOEFL test has been processed, free practice materials will be mailed to you. It takes approximately

four weeks to receive this material. Consider this timing when registering to test.

The free test preparation material can also be downloaded from the TOEFL Web site at www.ets.org/toefl. Please visit the Web site

for additional information about the free material as well as other practice materials available for purchase.

Report to the test center at least 30 minutes prior to your

appointment. If you arrive late, you may not be admitted,

and your test fee will be forfeited.

If you have a CBT voucher, take it to the test center.

The entire test session is approximately four hours long.

ONLINE Test takers with credit cards can register online for the paper-based test at www.ets.org/toefl or for the computer-based test at

www.ets.org/register.html. VISA, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, and Discover cards are accepted. Registration deadlines for

the paper-based test are the same as the US/Canadian deadlines shown on the back cover. There is no extra charge for this service.
