Grammar Exercises – Relative pronouns and relative adverbs
A - Join the sentences using a relative pronoun or relative adverb. Don’t use "that".
1. People should eat more vegetables. They only eat pre-cooked meals or fast food.
2. I sometimes eat sweets and drink fizzy drinks. These are usually rich in sugar and bad for our
health.
3. I’m going to this new restaurant. They usually serve lots of salads, fresh vegetables and fish
there.
4. Lots of DVDs and YouTube clips are about keeping fit. They teach you how to do simple
workouts and physical exercise.
5. She is a pescetarian now. She used to eat meat and poultry.
6. Pete wrote a great vegetarian recipes cook book. His TV show is about leading a healthy life.
B - Join the sentences with a relative pronoun. Don’t use "that". Omit the pronoun
if possible.
1. This bicycle is great to get in shape. I bought it last week.
2. I saw a man. He was extremely fat.
3. The book is about teens' problems and self-esteem. I really like it.
4. I'm going to make you a salad. You'll love my salad.
