A. Aim: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to know the vocabulary to
talk about parts of the body.
Teaching aids: - posters, pictures.

1/ Vocabulary:
- T draws the picture of body on the board or uses a picture of body to present the
vocabularies.
- Head : (n) C¸i ®Çu (visuals )
- Chest : Ngùc (visuals )
- Shoulders : Vai (visuals )
- Arms: C¸nh tay (visuals )
- Hands : Bµn tay (visuals )
- Legs : Ch©n (visuals )
- Feet ( a foot): Bµn ch©n (visuals )
- Fingers: Ngãn tay (visuals )
- Toes: Ngãn ch©n (visuals )

- Shows the picture A1. P 92 (T can use a bigger picture and hangs it on board )
- Calls a good student and then T points the parts of the body on the picture and asks
- Lets students work in pairs to ask and answer
- Calls some pairs to speak loudly.

- Students write about amount of the parts of body.

- T prepares the table on the leather poster and shows it on the board for students
- Asks students to fill in the adjectives for the people in the pictures a) - d)
- And then T lets students listen twice and write the order of the people
described
- Calls a student to come to board and write that order
- T gives out the corrections
- Students listen the last time to check again.
IV. Homework:
- Learn by heart vocabulary.
- Do exercises A2 in workbook.
- Prepare for B1.

- All students stand up . Tell students some things to do but they should only do them if
you say “ Simon says” first.
* Example : “ Simon says point to your mouth”. (students point to their mouths), “Simon
says point to your arm” (Students point to their arms). “Point to your ear” (Students
shouldn’t move because you didn’t say “Simon says”. If some students point to your
ears ,tell them to sit down. The last student still standing win the game.

- T prepares the wordsquare on the leather poster and then show it on board.
- Asks students to find out the words they have learnt with the different sides of
the wordsquare.
- T can devide students in to two teams : Team A( red chalk ) & Team B (yellow
chalk). Which team finds more words is winners.
- T checks and gives out the answer keys

2. Finding friends: (with answer keys)
- T prepares the chart (without answer keys) on the poster and then hang it on the
board to show for students .
- Students look at the table and find out the adjectives is suitable with the nouns and
tick in suitable cells.
- T lets students read the phrases.
- And then asks students to make sentences with the adjectives and nouns
- For example:
She has brown hair
She has green eyes....etc.
3. Dialogue build:
Note : Don’t pre-teach doll but explain it in context.
- I have a new doll.
- It’s black
- They’re brown.
- What colour is her hair ?
- What colour are her eyes?
• Model sentences :
What colour is her hair ? It is black
What colour are her eyes ? They are brown.
• Form :
What colour + tobe + N (Parts of one’s body) ?
S (it/ they) + tobe + adjectives (of colour)
• Meaning : Ask students to translate the sentences in to Vietnames.

• Use : To describe the features of someone with the adjectives of colour.
III. Practice :
1. Picture drill : B3 P.101 (4 dolls)
* Example exchange :
S1 : What colour is her hair ?
S2 : It is black
S2 : What colour are her lips ?
S2 : They are red ?
2. Decribing friends : ( T can call a student come to board and asks students to
make questions and answer about the color of her/his hair/ lips/ teeth /eyes.
S1 : What color is [Huong]’s hair ?
S2 : It is black.
S1: What color is [Ba]’s teeth ?
S2 : They are white.
S1: What color are Huong’s lips?
S2 : They are red.
IV. Production :
* Write it up :
- Students write the decripsion about yourself
Ex: My hair is short, it is black and my eyes are brown...........
